The Castle

The castle in Krasiczyn, one of the greatest treasures of Renaissance-Mannerist architecture in Poland, is also one of the most beautiful castles in Europe.
It was built in the late 16th and early 17th century by Stanisław Krasicki and his son Marcin. The castle's two curtain walls are decorated with a lovely openwork attic. Four round towers stand at the corners - the Divine, Papal, Royal, and Noblemen's (their names symbolize the hierarchy of the world approved by the castle's founders, encompassing both this world and eternity). The castle courtyard, surrounded by arcades, offers a great view of extremely rare sgraffito murals presenting scenes from the bible, medallions with the busts of emperors, pictures of Polish kings, and hunting scenes.
The historical town of Przemyśl is just 10 km away, while the wide expanse of the Bieszczady Mountain pastures is perfect for excursions around the area on foot, by bicycle, or on horseback. Those who prefer less tiring forms of leisure will also feel great in this peaceful region.
We offer guests excellent cuisine, comfortable accommodation in the Zamkowy Hotel, and a high standard of service.

For more information about the castle's history, click here or read the exquisitely edited and illustrated book Krasiczyn (available at the castle and at the bookshop of the Royal Castle in Warsaw).
