The park
The park surrounding the castle in Krasiczyn is an unusually beautiful place that amazes visitors with its rich variety and number of plant species.
Its beginnings date back to the 16th and 17th centuries, and are linked to the time when the Krasicki family built the castle. At that time, the garden called the "menagerie" stretched from the castle's eastern end. The park owes its present plan, the arrangement of the plants and their selection to the Sapieha family, who bought the castle in 1835. They started the tradition of planting oaks when a son was born, and linden trees for a daughter's birth. These imposing, noble trees, more than 150 years old, are the park's main attraction today, and a very special memento of the last owners. The Sapiehas also took care to keep the park unique, planting exotic trees and shrubs brought here from their travels in America.
Besides the castle, a central location in the park is taken up by the upper pond, surrounded by a promenade and a romantic natural clearing. From here, an open view stretches onto the Krasiczyn gardens and castle, especially the towers and the curtain wall with its beautiful Renaissance attic. This is the most frequented path in the park. Majestic swans are a very special ornament of the pond. For other birds, the park with its close to 200 plant species, is a natural refuge. There are about 40 species of breeding birds here, including the popular chaffinches, robins, turtle doves, great titmice, greenfinches as well as the less well-known wood pigeons, blue tits, accentors, kestrels, long-eared owls, and many more.
The extensive, romantic park and the Renaissance castle, perfectly set within the landscape of the Przemyskie Foothills, form a unique and charming place for resting. Those who appreciate beauty will find wonderful views to paint and photograph, while tourists will find peace and quiet.

The park is open from morning till dusk.
