In the south – eastern corner of Poland, close to the historical city of Przemysl, not far from the Polish – Ukrainian border, a Late-Renaissance castle of Krasiczyn is situated. Every visitor finds this venue really extraordinary for relaxation and rest. It is surrounded by the climate of a 16th century noblemen’s mansion that was inhabited in the past by many great noblemen families of the Republic of Poland.

It is the Krasicki family members, that are credited with an idea for building the castle. After their death, the castle belonged to the Tarło, Potocki and Piniński families and last but not least the Sapieha family, who considerably contributed to the beauty of the park, that embraces the castle and whose most valuable part is the collection of the family trees commemorating the family members’ births. Within a park area there is a great deal of miscellaneous and exotic species of trees and shrubs. The sight of a blooming, huge tulip tree is really something unforgettable. As a local tradition says, one who goes round an aged ginkgo biloba tree three times can be certain that their dreams will come true. A 19th century lime avenue as well as an upper pond area are for many visitors the most favourite places for strolls. In order to get into a courtyard one has to go through an eastern gate. Its magnificence is impressive and the castle interior walls are covered with beautiful sgraffito decorations depicting Roman emperors and Polish monarchs. The courtyard is a place where summer concerts, operas and knights tournaments are held. The Hunters’ Gala is yet another event with quite a short but already rich tradition. A 16th century chapel which has been recently renovated has become a special touristic attraction. It ranks among such pearls of polish culture as the King Sigismund’s Chapel at Wawel.
A perfect place to take a rest is the Castle Hotel with 51 comfortable rooms and suites located in four buildings, which are a former coach, the Swiss and Hunter’s Pavilions and the castle itself. The Castle Restaurant is famous for its traditional polish cuisine and regional specialities. The most popular and well-known are a saddle of venison on a red cabbage, a lordly quail on potatoes or sour soup with sausage. Wine lovers can taste a vast range of different wines in the Prince’s Wine Bar. The Park and Castle Complex in Krasiczyn is an excellent venue for arranging conferences, conventions, reunions and other types of meetings combined with leisure facilities. A wedding in the castle is an extraordinary experience, that leaves participants with unforgettable impressions for many years.
For amateurs of mountaineering, there is a range of picturesque landscapes of the Przemyśl plateau and the Bieszczady mountains. Another interesting proposal for spending a couple of days in our region is a trip to a phenomenal and beautiful city of Lviv with its location of some 90 km away from Krasiczyn.
Our guests are always served in a cordial and friendly atmosphere by the staff which are highly professional and experienced. The castles in Krasiczyn and Baranów Sandomierski are the properties of the Industrial Development Agency in Warsaw.
I hope that your visit to the castle in Krasiczyn will give You lots of satisfaction and bring You back to this magic place remaining in your memory for a long time.
