Galician Picnic at Krasiczyn Castle: Flavors, Traditions & Podkarpacie’s Multicultural Heritage
On Sept 6, 2026, at Krasiczyn Castle’s courtyard, the Galician Picnic is a free event celebrating Podkarpacie’s culinary and cultural heritage.
From 14:30, enjoy a lecture by Krzysztof Zieliński on late 19th–early 20th-century manor cuisine. Then, from 15:30-17:00, join cooking and pottery workshops, tastings, and regional crafts showcasing. Learn old recipes & traditional Galician flavors like proziaki, yeast pierogi, honey cakes, apple pastries & cheesecakes.
The event will also highlight Galicia’s multicultural culinary roots shaped by Polish, Ruthenian, Jewish, Lemko, Austrian, and Hungarian traditions. There will also be meetings with local artisans and artists.
At 17:00, the picnic ends with a concert by Tołhaje “San – stories written by the river”, inspired by Podkarpacie’s traditional songs and
